Updated version ♥

First day of 31 day painting challenge, 1st of "People & Portraits" topic! I've sketched this down already a couple of days ago when I was getting back to my eye studies. One of my friends here on DA and I were discussing our favorite colors and we agreed we can't resist the grey blue & dark grey combination, and for me personally it works the best with just a bit of red. Was this a coloring exercise, than? No, I was sure of colors before I started to paint, but there is never enough practice when it comes to watercolor spontaneous behavior and layering. This was two or three, took me 3 hours.

There are many ways to "abstractize" a portrait or a face part. It's what interests me very much and I am not done experimenting (:

I hope you like the painting, tomorrow I might get a bird involved with someone's face! :frail:

Wow, your work really does reflect, the title.  Moody tones colors with the splash  of red. Leaves me thinking if there's pain behind the thought. Fantastic!
