I am at awe of this work. As a bag, I found no parallel in introspecting over the matter concerning which I find myself viewing a work made from watercolor.
The representation of the purple with the green represent the polarity of doubt in this day dreamer's perspective - the regal representation contorting towards the doubt and heavily guarded ignorance of the reality of life keeping the daydreamer from realizing what is real and what isn't... hence the formation of clouds and the distortion of an otherwise realistic frame (i.e. the body itself).
It does seem as if there is a dream wherein there is no reality... and no awakening...
Wonderful introspection, this painting all subtlety is very strong. The mixture of the body and the spirit is very well represented. I look at this painting for several minutes and I can't decide if this dream is positive or negative. In any case,I love a lot this painting...Great work Jane!!
