PE: 5 reasons to believe in yourself

Tue Jan 22, 2013, 7:56 AM

Success is not a measure of how much money you earn or how popular you are, rather, it is being able to find your passion - one that makes you happy and ultimately, one that you would be happy to leave as your legacy. To make a step forward to reach your dream takes smarts and guts but why couldn't you? Here is five reasons why you can.

:bulletpurple: 1. Everyone was born equal

More-less, this is true, some people are born more challenged than others but we all possess skills and ability to learn. It is possible to build something out of nothing if we really want to. It all comes down to our preferences and decisions.

"Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent."

Eleanor Roosevelt

:bulletpurple: 2. Overcoming your fears

By constantly challenging yourself, you can get rid of fears that used to follow you. You will no longer be worried, you'll know you can count on yourself.

"If you think you can, you can. If you think you can't, you're right."

Mary Kay Ash

:bulletpurple: 3. Happiness

When you believe in you, it brings you strength and happiness. Happy people do everything more efficiently and are healthier.

"If you hear a voice within you say "you cannot paint", than by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced."

Vincent Van Gogh

:bulletpurple: 4. It's contagious

Once you start believing in yourself, you will provide a good example for others as well.

"Believe in yourself and there will come a day when others will have no choice but to believe with you."

Cynthia Kersey

:bulletpurple: 5. You are all you have

The truth is, even at times when nobody's got your back, you can stand still and focused. After all, you have nothing less than yourself in this world.

"I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not."

Kurt Cobain

Do you believe in yourself?

I had terrible problem about believing in myself. Especially in school reports, singing, dancing, drawing and writing fanfictions.

School reports were quite easy because they were like 'forced' to do it because they want to have high grades and their teacher said so. Yet I still don't know why we have reports, is there a purpose for us in the future?

Singing and dancing were also there because it's their passion but they cannot fulfill it. Like me, I just lost my confidence from signing beause I lost in a contest and felt that I let my family down. Until I was enrolled in center For Pop music Philippines, my coach noticed that I can sing but I can't move because I was scared. Then he said that I had to believe in myself, but I just do it because my coach said so..and now I have a concert to do in May :depressed:.

Drawing is also my problem, I always draw in my school but the thing is my classmates always assign me as the artist of the group, but one day I said I can't do it because it's not my thing of drawing that is irrelevant to my passion. They didn't care and told me to do it even if you can't because it's their grade are targetting. I felt like I was used, because I only draw cartoon characters and things that are in my passion.

Writting Fanfictions are the things too, I already had two stories: Freality and Anima High. It's still has a few viewers, yet I'm still a beginner. Then I saw one of my friends in D.A was going to quit because there are few viewers in her stories, but I tried to cinvince her to stay. No response after that, yet she is still online. I don't know why what's got into her yet she is the one who convinces me to continue my story.

I just don't get it why Happiness is on the 5 reasons...:forgiveme:

By the way, thank you for making this. It made me feel better .
